In the spring of 1976, a small group of RIT students in the nascent field of Computer Science set out to form a Special Interest House based around their common goals and interests. Thirty-five years later, the spirit of learning and discovery our founders brought to this organization is alive and well, and we're celebrating the promise of many more years to come!
This weekend, over 150 CSH alumni from across the country will descend on RIT and participate alongside current members in traditional events, storytelling, tours of House and the campus at large, and of course a formal banquet. We thank all of these people for taking time out of their busy lives to travel here and celebrate with us. Our alumni have always been instrumental in keeping our history alive and helping members achieve their goals, and the anniversary events we hold every five years are an important part of that tradition.
Thanks are also in order for the chief organizers of this event, Vickie Krauchunas and House History director Chris Lockfort. Their planning and coordination efforts have ensured that this will be an anniversary to remember!
