Seminar: Linux Server Security

The CSH Seminar Series is on a roll! This Friday, January 15th, our guest speaker is Carl Schmidtmann, and he'll be presenting an overview of tools available for securing and monitoring Linux server systems. As before, we'll be in room 70-3435 at 4:30pm. Don't miss it!

Real World Development and Ruby Testing Tools

The newly-restarted CSH Seminar Series continues this Friday, December 11th, with Alan Dipert and Julio Capote talking about Real World Development and Ruby Testing Tools. The time and place are the same as the previous seminar: 4:30pm in room 70-3435. We had a great turnout last time, so bring your friends and help us make this one even better!

Seminar Series Returns with Kevin Purdy (Location change!)

The on-again, off-again CSH Seminar Series will be running its first seminar of the quarter on Friday, November 13th at 4:30pm in room 70-3435. Our guest is none other than Kevin Purdy, Buffalo newswriter and Senior Editor for Lifehacker; his topic, in his own words, will be "How Do We Fix the God-Awful Comments on the Net?" See you there!

Open House Sep. 26th

The first RIT open house event of the quarter is set for Saturday the 26th, and as always, we'll be there! Come see us, along with the other Special Interest Houses, on the first floor of Nathaniel Rochester Hall (Building 43) between 11am and 4pm. Our guides will be happy to give you a tour of our floor, show you some of our projects, and answer any questions you have about CSH or RIT in general.

Labor Day Open House!

Interested in joining CSH, but want to see what it's all about in person? We're on it! Our very first open house of the 2009 school year is right on the first day of classes: Monday, September 7th. Come visit our table at the Sundial outside Gracie's between 10am and late-afternoonish, and we'll take you up to CSH for a tour!

John Resig at RIT

John Resig, CSH alumnus and creator of the popular jQuery Javascript library, will be visiting RIT on May 8th to present a seminar on some interesting new features of next-gen web browsers currently in development.  read more »

No Seminar This Week

The CSH Seminar Series is on hiatus this week. Stay tuned for news of next week's advanced Javascript seminar, presented by Angelo DiNardi.

Seminar: OpenSolaris

This week for the CSH Seminar Series, David Brenner will be presenting an introduction to the OpenSolaris operating system: History, features, installation and use, etc. If you don't know much about OpenSolaris, but want to learn, come on down! As usual, the time is Wednesday the 15th at 6:00pm 8:00pm (apologies for the last-minute rescheduling), and the place is the GCCIS auditorium on the first floor of building 70.

Seminar: The Death Envelope

For this week's installment of the CSH Seminar Series, Zachary Vida will be presenting a seminar entitled "The Death Envelope: Data After Death". Intrigued?
