Bush-bashing is a national pasttime Sun, 06 Jun 2004 23:51:04 EDT

Because, of course, Bush is to blame for everything.

Why this makes me hate people:
What is the topic of this community? It's not about your fucking politics, so unless you can relate it, it doesn't belong.

This asshat has a habit of posting shit like this. He once asked the community if there were any black people amongst its ranks. That's all the post said. Nothing as to why he would want to know. You can probably find it, if you care to read.

If you think Bush is going to be the end of the world, explain to me why, because I'd really like to hear. There are a lot more dangerous people than him out there. Even as president, he doesn't have enough power to do as much damage as you think he can do.

Yeah, I have an obvious slant. So what? Most of the media you believe without a second thought is heavily liberal. Nearly all educational instiutions are heavily liberal.

(As a side note, you may see many references to various 'childfree' groups. I happen to frequent them, because I myself am childfree. Take what you will from that, but most of their politics piss me off.)

The word "liberal" has very little descriptive power. For example, outside the US, "liberal" carries a very different connotation. Traditional Republican economic policies, which ironically are somewhat opposed to Bush economic policies, are infact "liberal". Actual Democratic policies lean towards socialistic. What's my point? Media is "liberal" only if you use an ambigous definition of the word. Take Coulter's political views and call everything opposing it "liberal." By such standard, media is liberal. Except for Fox News with the highest market share of all cable news channels and the majority of AM political talk radio.

Otherwise, if you assume "liberal" to mean a civil libertarian with Keynesian or even socialistic economic tendencies, then there is no fucking way the media is liberal. See all the outcry right after the Patriot act (none), see the unwavering initial support for all fo the US-initiated military conflict, see their attitudes towards various free-trade protests. Their leftism is limited to annoying, yet innocous and irrelevant topic such as child safety or gun control. Never have I seen American mainstream media profoundly distrusting the administration, be it Republican and Democrat. Although the media might question the individual's leadership or candidates personal life, they never dare being subversive.

I agree that institutions of higher education are liberal by any definition. Public education was established to produce literate factory workers who could work advanced machines and follow instructions obediently. No joke, you can look it up. This might be liberal according to first definition of "liberal."

Finally, Bush is predictable and has lost the public mandate. He is not threat. However, this has some far-off implications. Some sectors of the Left believe that Bush in the White House is better than Kerry. I'm too tired to explain their full argument. Simply ponder the reason why Nixon administration was the most progressive administration since FDR.

Sorry for all the politics, but Im just too easy to bait.

Name: A gay man

I wanna ask why do black people hate gay people, why do they feel like destroying us is a justification for the white man's actions? white man did nothing to no black poeple in the past 60 years. Black people to me I feel are the most biased people on the face of the earth they blame everyone for their problems and feel like they are owed something. They want gay people to be slaves
