Beff

Thank you for using Beff.

Beff is "biff for Be". Beff is pronounced ( 'bEf ) just like the meat beef. It is able to contact multiple email servers and relay to the user how much mail is waiting on that server. Audio alerts can be provided to the user when mail arrives.

To install Beff, copy it somewhere onto your drive, such at /boot/apps. Perhaps you will also like to have Beff on your applications menu.

After running Beff you will want to add servers to its list. Click the "Add" button for a window in which you can enter the information of a server. The fields in the "Server Information" box are required.

To make changes to an existing server, select it and click the edit button.

To remove a server select it and click the remove button. Note that changes are not saved until the program exits normally.

Many thanks to: John Robinson (soco), BUGGER, the great peeps in #bedev, and Be of course, for making this all possible.

Beff uses a version of John Wiggins' PassControl class. It also uses Sean Heber's PlaySound classes and Brian Tietz's "Santa's Gift Bag".
