Well, you want to know more about me eh?...Ok.

So, my real name is Bob and I am an independent filmmaker working for a mortgage company (film career is going that good). I'm a cat person....I have 10 of them! Recently re-transplanted myself back up to New Jersey after I moved down to Tampa, Florida from New Jersey in June of '96. We lived in Tampa only 5 months but it just didn't seem to fit who I am....I just love flannel too much! :)
Overall I think I'm as normal as I want to become.
Bob
I've been 'married' since November '92 (at least as close as I can for now). Larry and I 'met' on the 'Bears Mailing List'and dated through email and over the phone. We've got a $700 phonebill to prove it. We started talking in June, and I booked a oneway flight from Philly to Tulsa in November. I finally told my parents I was gay and in love the night before I left. Now, both my parents consider Larry the perfect son-in-law. Larry & I are often asked if we are twins. Sometimes we humor people and say yes. But I can tell you it's bad when my mom gets us mixed up. So, here is a peek into who I am. Now don't prejudge me just because I'm gay because I really do NOT fit the what society envisions me to be. First off, I'm a 'bear'and damn proud of it, and second I am very happy with who & what I am. I can be very stubborn and opinionated but tend to keep my views to myself (except for here).

My Film Influences Include: (but not limited to)

I think I'm a fairly simple person. I mean I'm trying to pursue a filmmaking career (I did work on one called "TWO PLUS ONE"I had to pay to see it and then they misspelled my name in the credits!). In the meantime I have to pay the bills, so I work regular jobs. For four years I worked for the PFWC(Philadelphia Festival of World Cinema) and I've seen lots of weird and wonderful films and met tons of filmmakers from around the world.

I have a few things I'm addicted to in life, such as video games (old home systems like ColecoVisionand such), coffee, beer(drinking and I'm learning about brewing), films, football, photography, gimmick flicks (like 3D and such) & and of course....bears. My link page will show you just how eclectic my tastes run.

I figured I would tell you some of my background...Iwas born in December of 1966 in Hartford Connecticut where I lived till I was 4. Then there was a 2 year stint in Maryland where I had my first girlfriend (I only dated 2 - didn't care for either one of them). After that it was up to Willingboro, New Jersey for about 10 years. It was here that my life changed forever. When I was 12, the movie "Alien" came out. I begged and pleaded with my parents to take me to see it (I had a strict moral upbringing, I wasn't even allowed to watch "Three's Company" so they had to see it first). So my mom finally takes me. She did a full psych job on me, played with my head big time. Told me that when she saw it, people yaked and such. So I was fairly scared just walking in, and it was a sold out show. I asked her to tell me when the monster was coming - she lied! That movie scared the shit out of me!! Gave me nightmares for a month! But I was hooked- on movies. I can point to this as the sole event that drove me into film production. It's been an obsession ever since.

So high school was ok. I wanted to be on the school's football team but didn't make it so I became equipment manager& assistant trainer. I went out for and made the school's wrestling team, did ok. Got my knee smashed up during the next to last match so that canceled football & wrestling for next year. My folks moved to Indiana (suburb of Indianapolis) during my junior year. I graduated from a school that had a race riot the first week of my senior year and as a result had ARMED guards the rest of the year. There was also a KKK cross burning on the front lawn of the school. After I graduated, we got the hell outta dodge and went back to Jersey.

It was during this time that I ran a BBS. It was called "Animal Crackers", and it stayed running for almost 2 years. I got a big kick out of running that board. I ran it on an Atari 800XL computer that I had manually upgraded to an amazing 256K of memory! It was the same computer that I got as a graduation present from my parents. Here I stayed running my BBS until I yearned to got to college. I waited 4 years after High School to go to college. I really didn't feel emotionally prepared for college until this point in my life.

My choice was R.I.T.(Rochester Institute of Technology) but I attended Burlington County Collegefor a year first. I studied of course, film/video production.I was there for three years but alas the financial aid office conspired against me and the money ran out. I loved college, met lots of great people (my best buddy Kurt - see college gallery page).I lived in 'special interest housing' almost like a fraternity but not quite. I lived in Photo Housefirst, then I moved over to Computer Science House. Those houses really made my college experience a great one. I fell in love with Canada during many trips to Toronto to see "Kids in the Hall" being taped. I also had my first relationship while I was in school. It lasted about 6 months and ended very badly - I was young and very stupid.

About a year after college, I found Larry and moved to Tulsa in November of '92. We lived there until he graduated from college the following May then moved to Atlanta for a bit (about 4 months). Loved the city but we were living with another couple and it was very awkward, and it's a long story. So we left and moved in with my folks (they didn't mind). After a few months, Larry & I moved one town over and lived there for two years. My folks moved to Townsend, MA (a real small town! about 5 miles south of New Hampshire). We planned on joining them up north but my dad took a job with a company in Tampa - so we followed.

But Tampa didn't feel like home. I don't feel like we belong here. I miss the changing seasons too much and besides it's just too damn sunny down there! So now we're back in New Jersey.

So now you know my life....I've made some mistakes along the way (some I'm really not proud of), but we all do.
