Colchester High School has a Computer Programming class where, for part of the year, we got to use Lego Dacta. We built models and programmed in procedures for those models to perform.
This is the Robotic Arm on Wheels project we made for our Computer Programming class.
Colchester has a great program devoted to computer programming and applications. During the first half of the year we learned Qbasic, the building block of computer code. Then, for the last half we learned MicroWords which is similar to Lego Dacta, except it uses more programming and less interaction between real life machines.
Our class then began Lego Dacta, a great programming language that operates machine components like motors, light sensors, and angle sensors. The code controlled these objects just like in real life!
So far we have been learning Lego Dacta for 3 weeks, it is extremely easy to learn and in just a few weeks you can make things like our Robotic Arm on tank treads!
