Tug is a character animation exercise grown all out of proportion. The original idea was simply to show a character interacting with weight, and expanded into two characters pitting their weight against each other. I wanted the character design simple and archetypal so that the two's respective roles would read immediately, hence the bright colors and exaggerated Gumby-esque forms.

In a way this animation has three characters, because I couldn't find a dynamic rope sytem I liked, and ended up animating it by hand.
